Articles of Faith
Below is a summary of our Articles of Faith. To view our full Articles of Faith and Constitution contact the church office.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error, and the sole authority for faith and practice.
The Godhead
We believe there is one and only one living God; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit - each fully God yet having distinct but harmonious roles.
God the Father
We believe the Father to be the first Person of the Godhead, the Maker and Ruler of Heaven and earth.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God who has existed from eternity past as the second Person of the Godhead. That He is, was, and shall forever be Deity. That He, through His sacrificial death on the cross, burial, and resurrection from the dead, accomplished salvation for mankind.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead, and of the same nature of God the Father and God the Son. He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He also seals, gifts, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies and helps the believer.
Creation
We believe in the Genesis account of a literal 6 (six) day creation.
Sin, Salvation, Atonement and Justification
We believe that man was created sinless, but through voluntary transgression of God's Law fell from his sinless state. All mankind are sinners and therefore are guilty and under condemnation of the Law of God. However God, in grace, offers the free gift of salvation through the sacrificial work of Jesus Christ. Jesus gave Himself in substitutionary propitiation for sinful man to satisfy the wrath of God by dying on the cross. Those who trust in Christ for salvation experience God's justification.
We believe that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only means of and condition for salvation and justification.
Final Judgment and the Eternal State
We believe that Christ will return again to the earth and judge all mankind, both the unbeliever and the believer. The unbeliever will be condemned to Hell to experience the everlasting conscious suffering. The believer will go to the presence of God to enjoy the gracious blessings of heaven.
The Church
We believe that the church is the living Body of Christ composed of all believers from all ages and from all nations. In practice the church meets in local bodies of believers committed to worship, instruction, fellowship, and building the Kingdom of God.
Marriage and Gender
We believe that the Bible teaches that marriage is the joining of one man and woman, and that sexual intimacy is to be expressed only within the bonds of a biblically defined marriage. We also believe that gender matters. God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female, and these distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. The rejection of one's biological sex is denial of God's design and the person He created them to be.
